Dear FUSD Community,

I hope you and your family are safe and well during this unprecedented time for our community. As you may be aware, Bay Area school closures, including FUSD, have been extended through May 1, 2020.

During the closure, FUSD educators and staff have created an impressive array of flexible learning opportunities and resources to keep your child engaged and continuing to learn.

You will also find updated information and resources, as well as What’s Happening Around Town.  Our staff is here to support you and offer assistance. Please don't hesitate to reach out to your school site administrator or district staff with any questions.  I am committed to providing you with weekly updates and keeping you informed of changes which impact our FUSD community.

Please note: All FUSD playgrounds, tracks, and fields are closed to the public. Maintenance staff will place signs on the playgrounds to notify the public.

I wish you and your family well and look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Raúl Zamora, Ed.D.
Acting Superintendent

FUSD schools are closed through May 1st, announced in coordination with Alameda County Offices of Education | español中文 (pdf). Schools are tentatively scheduled to re-open on Monday, May 4th, but the closure could be extended depending on conditions. FUSD will announce any changes by posting on the District website and utilizing Parent Notification systems.

“This is an unfortunate but understandable step to take as we work together to slow the spread of COVID-19,” added FUSD Acting Superintendent, Dr. Raúl Zamora. “As anxious as we are to open schools and get things back to normal, safety comes first. We are confident with the wide array of on-line opportunities created and used by our teachers and staff, learning will continue for our students as long as necessary.”

Please note: All FUSD playgrounds, tracks, and fields are closed to the public.

Thank you and stay safe.
